St Trinians was apart of Ealing Studios comeback phase, as the studios had been away for a long time. So as a selling point Ealing Studios were claiming to be one of their brand new comedies for this era. This is how it was presented in the press also. As the BBC had this to say about St. Trinians when it was released:
"The revival of Ealing Studios"
and also another big selling factor Ealing Studios used was their Hollywood and British actors such as Mischa Barton, Colin Firth, Stephen Fry, Russell Brand and Rupert Everett. The BBC picked up on this aswell:
"It's a £7m production, starring Rupert Everett and Colin Firth which he hopes will resurrect interest in the St. Trinian's brand, his studio and put Ealing back on the global film map."
This is a clip of Mischa Barton in the film "St Trinians" to show just how much Ealing Studios relied on the famous stars:

Another selling point Ealing Studios used was that of musicians, as they used one of britains most famous girl bands "Girls Aloud". The girls posed as students and sang the theme tune, this was all promotional work by the studios as using this famous girl band they were able to cause a lot of hype for the film. Here is the theme tune for St Trinians by "Girls Aloud"-
Ealing Studios also used other famous artists of the time such as the "sugababes" and the up and coming singer "Paloma Faith". As on the films DVD cover they used the names of the artists to show how they were all on the films soundtrack.
The posters in which they made many for such promotional goods such as there soundtrack album cover and also all of the posters they made for other countries.
